 This is a topic that normally isn't 'proper' to talk about, but for those of us that experience it, it needs to be talked about! Due to many different prescription medications and their side effects, I have a very difficult time moving my bowels! I have tried so many things, OTC and prescription, including what my doctor told me to do, taking up to 4-5 stool softeners per day! way too many pills and it still wasn't helping at all!

A brace or ankle taping can also be useful for support during sports

 An ankle sprain can happen in every day life as well as in sports.  For example, a person walking down an uneven sidewalk can twist their ankle or a basketball player landing from a jump under the net.  No matter what the cause the outcome is generally the same: pain, inflammation, bruising, and decreased range of motion (ROM).  The ligament most commonly injured during an inversion ankle sprain is the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL).  This ligament is attached to the fibula and the talus.  An alvusion fracture can occur to the fibula if enough force is there during the injury.  An alvusion fracture is when a chip of the bone tears off with the ligament due to the trauma.
 Your ligaments and structures can be damages as well, most likely but not limited to calcaneofibular ligament (CFL), and the posterior talofibular ligament (PTFL). 
 
Most structures damaged during an inversion ankle sprain are ligaments; therefore, they do not repair themselves.  Rest is essential, however, therapy and rehabilitation must be included to strengthen surrounding structures since their ligaments are damaged and weak.  There are different stages in the healing process so different exercises are used to progress through recovery.  Initially, RICE  rest, ice, compression, elevation  are a must to calm the area down.  Gentle stretching  such as the towel calf stretch , circles, and ABC’s can be down here as well to work on range of motion.  As rehab progresses, more exercises can be done.  Proprioception  balance , and strength are important after an ankle sprain to regain what was lost due to the injury. Your recovery following an ankle sprain can be anywhere from days to weeks or even months, depending on the severity of the sprain.  Once an ankle is sprained it is more likely to happen again, therefore, it is important to continue strengthening exercises after returning to activity.
 
A brace or ankle taping can also be useful for support during sports and other physical activity during recovery and to prevent further injury.  It is important to remember though that continuous wear of taping and bracing can weaken ankle muscles and structures so it is important to stay involved in a strengthening program.  Bracing is better than taping, support wise, because after tape gets sweating and stretched out which generally takes about 20 minutes , the tape is not supportive like it is supposed to be.

Most of these tips are for camping or hiking in the deep woods. You need to increase muscle flexibility with stretching exercises. If you participate in sports or not increasing your muscle flexibility is good for your body. Try these ideas on how to increase your muscle flexibility through proper stretching.
The first thing you need to do before playing sports or going for a run or just walking to get exercise is do a proper muscle warm up. You need to take from five to ten minutes to stretch your muscles for a good warm up. Remember you warm up to stretch you do not stretch to warm up. Depending on your body type determines how long you take. A lean body will take a shorter time to get warm the a stocky body type. Your stretching routine should be gentle and relaxing. You should take long and relaxed breaths with each muscle stretch.
 Regular stretching before exercise with help reduce injuries. If your muscles are tight they are more prone to injuries and strains. Laying on your back and pulling your knee to your chest and hold for a five count will increase your hamstring flexibility before jogging or walking. In a standing position cross your ankles and bend over a touch your toes for a five count. Its ok to bend your knees a little to relieve pressure on your lower back. Make sure to breath slowly letting out the breath at the end of the stretch.On all your muscle stretching routines take it slow and easy. Only stretch to the point of discomfort with no bouncing or jerking motions. You should apply steady pressure during the stretch and remember to breath slowly. Footwear: Throughout the past several decades, football shoes have evolved from the traditional 7-cleat shoe containing a metal plate in the sole designed for grass surfaces, to a more flexible soccer-style shoe designed for grass surfaces, and finally to shoes designed for artificial turf.

 These changes in shoe type have allowed increased speed at the expense of stability. The absence of a stiff sole places the forefoot, and specifically the MTP joints, at much greater risk for stress-type injuries. Athletes wearing flexible turf shoes are much more prone to injury than those wearing shoes containing a stiff forefoot. Synthetic surfaces: Artificial grass contains a higher coefficient of friction and tends to lose some of its resiliency and shock absorbency over time.

 The combination of increased surface friction and a hard undersurface is believed to play a major role in the natural history of the injury. A higher coefficient of friction places the forefoot at greater risk to become fixed to the playing surface. Thus, the forefoot becomes more prone to an external force that places the hallux MTP joint in a position of extreme dorsiflexion.
Ankle range of motion: The risk for turf toe appears to be related to the range of ankle motion in those injured. A greater degree of ankle dorsiflexion has been correlated with the risk for hyperextension to the first MTP joint.

Tendonitis physical therapy exercises for tendonitis

Tendons are effected by tendinitis when the tendon becomes inflamed you will have some pain. Usually this happens when you are working or exercising at to rapid a pace. Most of the time a proper warm up will prevent tendinitis. When a tendon flares up cold will help reduce the inflammation. Use a cold pact or wrap some ice in a towel. Ice the area for ten minutes three or four times a day. You can fill a foam cup with water and put it in the freezer to use later.
 Aspirin and ibuprofen which are anti-inflammatory medications that can be taken to help with the pain. If possible keep the area elevated. An elastic bandage wrapped around the area will help support the injury, just make sure not to wrap the bandage to tight. Try and start cross training. This will stop the repetitive motions that are causing the tendonitis.Before swimming or running make sure to warm up the areas that are being effected by tendinitis. You can do leg and arm curls with weights or on a machine.
 You can also do some pre-warm up excersices.Do a form of mild aerobic exercises for a few minutes since stretching cold muscles can lead to tendinitis. You can jump rope or jog in place to get warmed up. When you do your stretching make sure to take it easy. Stretch until you feel resistance if it hurts you are going to far. Do not bounce or jerk when stretching. make sure to wear the right shoes. When the shoes are laced up you should not be able to wiggle your foot around. By setting the foot right your whole body will work right during work outs. This makes tendinitis less likely to give you a problem.
